LOST CHILD LIFELINE

Apparently, this week began with the so-called Blue Monday and whether you’re still feeling the dark cloud circling above you or not, Lostchild’s newest single ‘Lifeline’ is sure to perk up even the gloomiest of spirits. It’s an unapologetically upbeat song, from the opening of carefree laughter to the glam piano progression to the grooving guitars. ‘Lifeline’ tethers the listener to those feelgood vibes of nostalgia, hope and love, as Lostchild’s pop falsetto rings out, “I’m waiting for the perfect night, been waiting for it all my life, but I never lost my will to fight, so if this is my last lifeline, let it be my lifeline.” The disco synths transport us to an after-hours setting, one full of promise and the ideal place to banish those blues. Speaking on this track, the singer-songwriter originally from Banbury, Oxfordshire explains that this is "definitely the most positive song I’ve written so far. It’s about learning not to listen to that voice in your head that constantly reminds you about embarrassing or shameful things you’ve done in the past. I have to remind myself every day that I’m not defined by the stupid things I’ve done. I’m still learning to not be so hard on myself, but it’s getting easier every day." ‘Lifeline’ is the third release from his upcoming second EP, Being Loved When You Know You’re Not Good Enough, due out at the end of this month. It's sure to further establish Lost Child's stamina for chart potential pop music. - HT
